North Buncombe High School students recently had a special visit with local Veterans.
Members of DECA, a high school marketing organization, brought supplies and smiles to patients at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oteen. Students packed and delivered 25 gift bags with personal care and cold weather items. They also served coffee and donuts and enjoyed an afternoon of conversation.
“What a privilege to spend time sharing and serving these Veterans,” said teacher Ellie Chandler, the North Buncombe High School DECA advisor. “We recognize the personal sacrifice and unwavering leadership they and all Veterans have provided our country. We are grateful for this opportunity to thank them.”
North Buncombe DECA students are joining with DECA students across North Carolina this month who are participating in the “Value Our Veterans” community service campaign.
