Students in North Buncombe High School Electrical Careers class hold an M.B. Haynes banner

Students at North Buncombe High School are getting real-world learning opportunities from a local leader in the electrical field.

M.B. Haynes Corporation is partnering with the school to help implement its first year offering Electrical Trades as a class.

“M.B. Haynes has been an integral part of launching this program,” said Michele Smith, director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for Buncombe County Schools. “We are grateful for the company’s guidance and materials to help students develop skills that are essential in today’s workforce. Community partners such as M.B. Haynes play a vital role in helping Buncombe County Schools CTE programs create unique learning opportunities for our students.”

Several other CTE programs have formed partnerships with local businesses and industries to help students connect the classroom with a career, including agriculture, automotive, construction, business, marketing, and family and consumer science courses.
