Classroom Rules and Discipline Plan

Each student is required to follow all rules and regulations in the NBHS Student handbook. Specifically these include an emphasis on the tardy policy (3 tardies equals one absence), absence policy (a student must have no more than 5 absences in any class per semester), and cell phone policy (if the teacher sees a cell phone, the teacher will confiscate it.)

In this classroom, we also have our Community rules – which are as follows:

red card

  1. RESPECT OTHERS AT ALL TIMES.
  2. SHARE.
  3. BE FRIENDLY.
  4. ASK QUESTIONS OFTEN.
  5. PLAY FAIR.
  6. LISTEN.
  7. BE CURIOUS.
  8. STICK TOGETHER.
  9. DO NOT HIT PEOPLE.
  10. START A TRADITION.
  11. DO NOT USE A CELLPHONE.

The fine print:

I will reward you for actions that should be repeated.

I will punish actions that are disrespectful, cause harm, or disrupt our community. (I will give you a warning for problems, then I will call your parents, send you to the office, or give you detention – where you will be required to clean our room)

Overall~ the teacher will praise the actions that he wants to see repeated. If you follow the above rules, it will result in reward and praise. If you break these rules, it will result in swift penalty, (ie: conferences, detention, and referrals to administration.)
