  • Traveled through Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Cook Islands for 3 weeks studying Tropical Marine Biology

  • Participated in a 6 month internship for the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Balboa, Panama studying the mitochondrial DNA of freshwater fishes

  • Studied secondary metabolite production in sponge species found in Micronesia
