We have a strong commitment to excellence, and it is our vision that students will graduate as successful, engaged, conscientious citizens into our global society. We're located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, just a few minutes away from downtown Weaverville and 7 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina.
We are a member of the 3-A Western Mountain Conference, boast an award-winning arts program, and sponsor over 15 student clubs. We also remain a leader in CTE, offering courses that include digital design, agriculture, business, and child development. In addition, 184 NBHS students took over 285 Advanced Placement exams last year and we have produced several Morehead-Cain scholars.
Since 1954, North Buncombe High School has proudly served the northern Buncombe community to provide rigorous educational experiences for all students. Approximately 1065 students are enrolled at NBHS. Our mission is to establish a strong foundation for life-long learning by nurturing, guiding, and challenging all students to become responsible, productive members in a 21st century global society.
